Nile Rodgers hints at new Daft Punk releases in 2013
There have been numerous rumors surrounding the two dance pioneers as of late. In the past year we've heard leaks about a possible Coachella 2013 headlining spot, whispers about in-studio time with Giorgio Moroder and some jam sessions with jazz legend Nile Rodgers.
Rob Da Bank talks festivals, Daft Punk rumors
In a recent interview with eFestivals, Radio 1 DJ and Bestival organizer Rob Da Bank talked about his thoughts on the state of the festival market (both in the US and abroad), how he snags headliners, and of course some thoughts on Daft Punk rumors for this season's festival lineups. Presumably in his role as a festival organizer, he's had some pretty candid conversations with Daft Punk's management stating he "got told months ago that Daft Punk were not touring next year" despite the incessant rumor mill we're seeing. Regardless, we're all waiting with bated breath to see what these big name festivals like Coachella, Glastonbury, Bestival and others have in store for us this year.
10 tracks to celebrate the End of the World
Well, as predicated by the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar, it’s the end of the world as we know it. Unfortunately, only one of us is John Cusack, so the rest of us have no choice but to party into oblivion. At least we can thank the Mayans for conceding doomsday to a Friday. To accompany Armageddon, we have provided a list of tunes that will add appropriate theme music to the backdrop of imminent annihilation. Hopefully, you can find consolation in their uplifting message. Godspeed.

Lifelike & A-Trak release ‘Don’t Stop,’ Gigamesh, Mauvais Cliché, The Bloody Sisters hop on remix train
We've come to associate French producer Lifelike with fellow countrymen Alan Braxe, the late DJ Mehdi, Justice, and Daft Punk and known he's been working on his debut artist album, Future Disco, for quite some time now. With Kitsune Maison's release of the first single off the album "Don't Stop" as a remix package we now get our first tasty bits of this disco-techno goodness. A-Trak's ever-skillful turntablism complements Lifelike's on-point French electro-disco production. The remix duties go to Minnesotan Gigamesh (who manages to give the track even more of a vintage feel) as well as Parisians Mauvais Cliche and The Bloody Sisters. If that wasn't enough, the EP release also includes club and extended mixes. Check out a sampling below.
Good Morning Mix – Daft Punk Essential Mix (2/3/1997)
Start your week off with a mix from one of the most influential and storied dance acts of all time. For as long as we can remember, Pete Tong and his legendary Essential Mix have been taking over the airwaves of BBC Radio 1 to showcase the world's greatest DJs in a two-hour recorded mix. This fifteen year old segment came out the same year Daft Punk debuted their first album, Homework, which is largely said to have redefined electronic music and paved the way for what house music would become.
