Ten must see veterans at Ultra Music Festival 2013
Over the course of its two weekends, there are nearly 300 artists performing at Ultra Music Festival this year. In 2013, the festival is celebrating its 15th anniversary as dance music's most celebrated occasion and the season's highly anticipated kick off. In that period of time, the lineup has changed a lot -- not just in scope but also in sound -- but there are names that remain pillars of Miami's greatest electronic music tradition. These are names who've been at it longer than many of us have been walking and they deserve not just a tip of the hat, but also your time and attention at their impending Ultra sets. Felix Da Housecat teases ‘Sinner Winner’ EP
It's been a while since we heard some original house music from Felix Da Housecat. No surprises in his inclusion of pals like Justin Martin, T.E.E.D., and Catz n Dogz but we were tickled by inclusions of Green Velvet, Jacques Da Booty, Kölsch, Paul Simon, and the standout "rewix" of Chicken Lips' "He Not In."
Pleasurekraft feat. Green Velvet – Skeleton Key (Format B + Damn Kids Remixes)
The always-original Pleasurekraft and Green Velvet are back with a series of remixes of their summer collaboration, "Skeleton Key." The full remix package includes re-edits from Format B, Damn Kids, Zoo Brazil, and Bontan, but we were especially tickled by German duo Format B's techno rework and newcomer Damn Kids' bassy and minimal take on the oh-so-spooky original
