Hot Since 82 shares ‘Transitions’ off ‘Little Black Book’
Hot Since 82 is back on his marketing game -- sharing now his second brand new original from the forthcoming Little Black Book complication/album hybrid, due out on Jaymo & Andy George's Moda Black on October 22nd. "Transitions" as it stands is a 3:25 minute clip on YouTube, and although it's unclear whether or not this is the extent of the record it really only feels like it heats up in the last 30 seconds of what we hear. "Transitions" is lighter on its feet than most of Daley's distinct sound, but the classic vocal samples and eerie topline are replaced by a menacing bassline.
Hot Since 82 to release debut album ‘Little Black Book’ on Moda Black
Smack dab in the middle of his first-ever North American tour, Hot Since 82 will release his debut album Little Black Book on Jaymo and Andy George's renowned Moda Black label. A quick look at the tracklist to the discerning eye will show that much of this album is material Daley has been sitting on for a while, but along with the full official release of an album, he'll be including some new originals not yet shared with the public. To hype the release of the LP even more, he just announced today on his Facebook that one new song will be revealed on his website each week, starting this week with "Chords." Little Black Book will be out on October 22nd, and he starts his tour on October 10th. You can access his dates here.
Essential Mix Review: Hot Since 82 looks back on meteoric rise, cements validity of hit-making powers
Hot Since 82 has had an engaging last few years. The Leeds based artist -- whose real name is Daley Padley -- only made the switch to his creatively tipped moniker two years ago. He released “Let It Ride” on Noir that blasted off a fruitful ascent into the house music spotlight. He followed up with records on renowned imprints like Defected and Get Physical -- bringing to fruition monster releases like his remix to Yousef’s “Beg” and the Forty Shorty EP. More recently, his distinct bass line work was called upon by Rudimental and Green Velvet – tracks that are seeing constant rotation amongst the industry’s top talents. He used his invitation to Pete Tong’s legendary Essential Mix to stray from the obvious crowd pleasures and don on his personal musical exposition -- playing cuts from acts such as Dixon, Agoria, and unreleased material from the man himself.
