Skrillex and Diplo to livestream a 24-hour DJ set
Soon is finally now. Diplo and Skrillex have been teasing the Jack U album on their social channels for the last 6 months, creating a wave of hype around the pair's official full length debut. A handful of Snapchat teasers, some suspect set rips, and a ton of teasing later the duo have now announced plans for a 24 hour long live DJ set to be aired via Twitch. The unprecedented streaming experience is bound to be jam-packed with new music from Skrillex and Diplo and the entire Mad Decent and OWSLA families -- not to mention the likely chance that their full length debut will see some rotation over the course of the next 24 hours.
Missy Elliot works with Skrillex and Diplo, remixes Jack U’s ‘Take U There’
If Katy Perry 'resurrected' Missy Elliott at the Superbowl, then Skrillex and Diplo are about to give the hip hop icon a brand new throne at the top of the EDM crossover heap. Just as she did over Timbaland's groundbreaking production work, Elliott makes rapping over the unorthodox beatwork seem natural. Without hesitation she jumps into Jack U's horn-backed production to unleash a flurry of bars that are reminiscent of her Supa Dupa Fly era versework. Leaning into "Take U There's" fluttering hi hats and wonky samples, Missy shows off her spitfire flow and proves that no one brought her back -- she was on top of her game the entire time.
