Kygo shows off his piano abilities in this BBC1 Live Lounge performance of Tove Lo's 'Habits.' Accompanied by 'Stole The Show' collaborator, Parson James, the pair craft an evocative rendition of the radio smash that's lead by Kygo's classically-trained piano work.
Kygo premieres new single ‘Fiction’ at Coachella alongside Tom Odell
Rather than throw USBs to the crowd this time around, Kygo's Weekend 2 Coachella performance instead saw the premiere of his next single "Fiction" alongside Tom Odell. Appearing on stage, Odell performed the collaboration live for a packed crowd. The track also appeared in the tropical house stand outs Ultra Music Festival set, and although the videos may as well have been filmed on a potato, they give a quick peek into what's to come from one of EDM's hottest stars.
In defense of tropical house: understanding the rise, the ‘experience,’ and foreseeing its future
In less than 12 months, names like Kygo, Thomas Jack, Klingande and Bakermat have been placed underneath the latest subgenre to leave its mark on the EDM phenomenon. Kygo, arguably the most successful pioneer of the movement was handed unspoken confirmation of his arrival in dance music when he acted as a stand in for a coveted main stage slot during Avicii's absence at TomorrowWorld in 2014. Kygo then signed to Sony Music within just a few months of emerging into the electronic music sphere. Thomas Jack, an Australian who coined the term tropical house, was hand-selected by radio mogul Pete Tong as a leading tastemaker in the modern day music sphere with the probable potential of curating his own station on BBC. Where big room house once stood and dubstep was once primed to do, tropical house has now achieved and in record time.
Kygo unveils new original ‘Stole the Show’
Already high on the ranks as one of the most anticipated debuts for this year's Ultra Music Festival, Kygo has now released "Stole the Show," right on time for festival goers beginning to prepare for this year's excursion. The title to his latest was whispered as a preview in a recent video release, and now perhaps alludes to what many people are expecting the young Norwegian talent to do himself this year in Miami.

Kygo previews new music ahead of Ultra Music Festival performance
What may just appear as a supercut of Kygo's "Firestone" is actually a sly preview of the tropical house talent's newest original. In anticipation for his Ultra Music Festival debut, the young Norwegian pieced together a short teaser clip for what promises to be one of the most talked about performances of Miami in March. What's more interesting here isn't the Ultra plug or the "Firestone" performance, rather its the snippet that appears when the video cuts to an emergency broadcast screen. Out of the feedback, a male voice emerges and sings "at least we stole the show" acting as both a subtle reference to UMF 2015 and a preview of his latest original work.
