Lykke Li – No Rest For The Wicked (Joris Voorn Remix) [Preview]

In the grand scheme of things, Joris Voorn has remained a guiding light to electronic music’s most open-minded fancies. As seen in recent remodels for St Germain and Steve Mac, he also remains one of the industry’s more audacious remixers. Icy alternative songstress Lykke Li is the latest to strike his fancy, one that has the Rejected maestro at the heels of “No Rest For The Wicked” to test the creative remits of his craft once again in 2014. Li’s supple topline offers a more than befitting canvas to the Dutch legend, who takes a more serene and piano-driven approach to that of his often groovier and technically charged output. The result is a beautiful rendition coherent enough to be appreciated away from the dance floor and atmospheric enough to keep the hairs on the back of the neck upright. There are few others on the market who can manage such extremes in temperament and that’s exactly why Voorn remains as essential to the market as he was five years ago.
