Madeon makes history as the first DJ to ever perform on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange
The floor of the New York Stock Exchange was transformed last night by the unlikeliest of sponsors, a 19-year old French prodigy known to most as the launchpad-wielding Madeon. For just over an hour, the heart of the world economy puled, not with stock tickers and screaming traders, but with a barrage of pad-triggered clips, arranged to create a symphony of electro-pop that would shake the foundation of Wall Street's trading floor.
10 tracks to celebrate the End of the World
Well, as predicated by the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar, it’s the end of the world as we know it. Unfortunately, only one of us is John Cusack, so the rest of us have no choice but to party into oblivion. At least we can thank the Mayans for conceding doomsday to a Friday. To accompany Armageddon, we have provided a list of tunes that will add appropriate theme music to the backdrop of imminent annihilation. Hopefully, you can find consolation in their uplifting message. Godspeed.
Watch This: M4SONIC challenges Madeon for the Launchpad throne
If you did not believe in the possibility of live DJing, think again. M4SONIC, a young producer out of Australia ups the ante on the Launchpad game with his original composition "Virus" using not just one pad but TWO. M4SONIC's motivation is a direct result of Deadmau5's famed "Dance DJs are Glorified Button Pushers" article from back in June. Refusing to accept this as fact, he bought a Novation Launchpad the day after the article came out -- or so the story goes. Regardless, this latest showing of his talent (there are a few other examples on his YouTube page) made all of our jaws drop. Check it out for yourself.
