Pierce Fulton brings on Maor Levi for the 11th installment of Get Weird
Since its inception, Pierce Fulton's Get Weird podcast has been host to some impressively eclectic tracklistings. Now in it's 11th month, Pierce establishes a heavier aesthetic than usual on this mix; opening up with Mord Fustang's "Taito" before jumping into Baskerville's remix of "Para," Kryder's "Viper" and Wolfgang Gartner's "Anaconda." John Dish's latest "Karmma" makes a stand-out appearance midway through before John Dahlback's rendition of "Insomnia" by Lazy Rich takes center stage. Signing off with DallasK's latest "Vice," Pierce hands the decks over to "Wanna Be" co-collaborator Maor Levi who caps the 90-minute mix off with a minimix of his own originals and remixes.
Maor Levi & Pierce Fulton – Wanna Be (Original + Club Mix) [Preview]
Pierce Fulton and Maor Levi join forces for their first collaboration on Cr2 Records, "Wanna Be," a rousing progressive production that features both artists' unique flavors in one neatly packaged offering. Pierce's touch is present during the stuttering vocal cues that frame the track's onset while Maor lends his punchy progressive trance aesthetic to the breakdown as the track's namesake chirps and bends with infectious ease. "Wanna Be" and it's club mix will be available on April 12th via Cr2 Records.
The Killers – Miss Atomic Bomb (Maor Levi Remix) [Free Download]
Following in the footsteps of Felix Cartal and Project 46, Israel producer Maor Levi, takes on The Killers' latest radio-friendly hit "Miss Atomic Bomb," transforming the pop-rock anthem with progressive chordplay and booming percussion. Brandon Flowers' iconic vocals are accentuated by the Anjunabeats producer's big room stabs to create another sing-a-long anthem reminiscent of The Killers' oft-remixed "Mr. Brightside." Download the remix for free and don't forget to check out Maor's first Anjunabeats compilation released earlier this month.
Gabriel & Dresden feat Betsie Larkin – Play it Back (Maor Levi Radio Mix)
Gabriel & Dresden's first vocal production in 5 years has officially received the Maor Levi treatment. This Israeli newcomer was featured on Dancing Astronaut earlier this year when he debuted his MOARBASS podcast, transcending the ethereal trance aesthetic with dubstep and electro elements. Already receiving strong support from Armin Van Buuren on his ASOT podcast, Maor's rendition of the highly-acclaimed original adds a stunning top line melody and savagely punchy percussion.
Free Download: Nero – Guilt (Maor Levi & Ilan Bluestone Club Mix)
Trance and progressive house producers Maor Levi and Ilan Bluestone have just released a free download of their take on Nero's "Guilt." The track is the third single from the dubstep production team's 2011 seminal work Welcome Reality
Maor Levi transforms trance with progressive and dubstep rhythms
Maor Levi is an up-and-coming trance producer who grew up creating music in his bedroom at the age of 12. Heavily influenced by the trance-heavy 90s dance scene in Israel, Maor's sound has trappings across the full spectrum of trance subgeneres, deriving much of his influence from the psy-trance and goa he listened to as a kid. He cites his main inspiration as Infected Mushroom who he describes as; "out of this world with their sound and the wizardry of their production."
Anjunabeats Worldwide 04, Mixed by Maor Levi & Nitrous Oxide (album review)
To be honest, there isn't a bad track on Anjunabeats Worldwide 04. Trying to curate the best ones for you was painful, because all of Nitrous Oxide's contributions on CD2 are worthy of mention. If you're a trance fan, you need this album. Ineed, it's superior to any of the mix compilations Anjunabeats has put out recently -- includings Anjunabeats Vol. 8 and Vol. 9, both of which were mixed by Above & Beyond themselves.
