Deadmau5 scheduled to headline post-Grammy benefit for the Children’s Orthopedic Center
Hosted by Jay-Z's Roc Nation and UK-based management group Three Six Zero, the second annual benefit concert for the Children's Orthopedic Center in West Hollywood will be headlined by everyone's favorite rodent, Deadmau5 on February 10th. The post-Grammy afterparty sold out last year, raising over $150,000 when Joel performed alongside Rihanna and Calvin Harris and hopes to sell out again in 2013. This year the mau5 is headlining alongside Crookers and Nero with more artists yet to be announced.

Nero and Hardwell steal the show at OMFG! NYE in San Diego
There was no shortage of New Year’s Eve events to choose from this year, but when the two day lineup for LED’s OMFG in San Diego was released, there was no question where I was going to spend my final days of 2012. With a behemoth lineup consisting of Jack Beats, Nervo, Calvin Harris, Nero, Dillon Francis, Hardwell, Zedd, Laidback Luke and more, OMFG boasted an astounding array of talent over its two day spread.

The Grammys announce 2013 nominees, Diplo receives Producer of the Year nod
Dance music's presence in last year's Grammy awards was undeniable, marking the first time a DJ had been nominated for the Best New Artist category. The DJs and producers who were big in our world had finally crossed over into mainstream relevance by way of Skrillex's five nominations and three wins. Although there doesn't seem to be any milestone entries this year, Diplo's nomination for Best Producer is an accolade that is long overdue. Only three highly-recognizable dance music artists were nominated in 2012, but this time around there's a much healthier selection. But does anyone know who the hell Al Walser is? or did we just get trolled by the Grammys?
Doorly – Rush feat. Soraya Vivian (Original Mix)
Doorly is known as a bit of a jack-of-all-trades in the dance music community; he has acted as Usher's DJ, done guest mixes for Radio 1, taken up residencies in Ibiza, and worked with everyone from Grandmaster Flash to Basement Jaxx to Nero and Skrillex. His latest release, "Rush," out today on Jeffree's exhibits all of this diverse creative energy in one track. The tune is a full-on feel good vintage house track with an incredibly deep breakdown and dizzying chord and synth work. The remix package includes stabs from Problem Child's two step vibe, Go Freek, Lenkemz, and Rail & Priors on the drum and bass tip. Annie Mac loves it, we love it, you'll love it too.
Halloween Meltdown at Hammerstein Ballroom
One of the lesser-hyped shows from the weekend was Halloween Meltdown, featuring Fareoh, Adventure Club, and Nero. Although this show was not of the same impressive nature as its counterparts, it was certainly not an event we were going to overlook. After seeing Adventure Club at Electric Zoo --and having heard positive reviews from Nero’s last showing in New York City -- The Hammerstein Ballroom event definitely stirred my curiosity. The scene was much more relaxed in comparison to the madness going on elsewhere -- which is somewhat ironic for a dubstep show. Although only one member of both Nero and Adventure Club were present, I was confident the show would be amongst the best of the weekend.
