Kill Paris – To a New Earth (Gramatik Remix)
After treating us last week to Griz's remix of "Slap," OWSLA has unveiled another remix to Kill Paris's forthcoming To a New Earth EP. Slovenia's Gramatik has taken on To a New Earth's lead single, and it's everything you would expect from a combination of his groovy glitch hop stylings with Kill Paris's soulful bass. Gramatik layers on riff after riff of clean guitar lines, supplementing what we can only assume to be Kill Paris's jazzy melodies and punchy kicks. The result is an intriguing mix of jam band, glitch hop, and dubstep, coming together seamlessly in an amalgam of blissful bass music. Stay tuned for the full release of To a New Earth on February 26th.
The M Machine – Ghosts in the Machine feat. pennybirdrabbit
The M Machine are gearing up for Metropolis Pt. II and, from the looks of it, it's going to be their biggest release yet. Having already previewed their awesome dubstep original "The Palace," the M Machine are maintaing their momentum by teasing "Ghosts in the Machine."
Seven Lions – Days to Come (AU5 & I.Y.F.F.E. Remix)
While the Coyote Kisses Cover won the community pick for the Beatport Play remix contest of Seven Lions' "Days to Comes," it was AU5 & I.Y.F.F.E. who took the overall honors. Hand selected for the grand prize by Seven Lions himself, AU5 & I.Y.F.F.E.'s remix of "Days to Come" is a heavier drumstep take on Jeff Montalvo's dreamy dubstep single.
Birdy Nam Nam – Defiant Order (Phuture Doom Remix)
Never satisfied with the status quo, Skrillex's OWSLA label continues to surface new and exciting talent in the world of dubstep and electro. Next up on their list is the currently unknown production outlet Phuture Doom, whose name graces our pages for the first time today. Not much is known about who or what Phuture Doom is, it's Facebook, Twitter and Soundcloud only just popped up in the last few days - could it be another Dogblood-esque collaboration? Only time will tell. What we do know is that this remix of Birdy Nam Nam's latest "Defiant Order" is aggressive electro at its finest. Bred for the floors of filthy warehouses and run through an electro meat grinder of sawtooth growls and savage kicks, Phuture Doom's take on "Defiant Order" has left us searching for more details on the project.
