SFX acquires TMWRK, The Meta Agency and Learned Evolution, expands reach into artist management and creative agencies
Robert Sillerman's SFX Entertainment continues to expand its sphere of influence with another string of acquisitions. TMWRK, The Meta Agency and Learned Evolution have all joined the SFX family, further expanding the EDM conglomerate into the artist management and creative sectors of the dance music industry. These acquisitions aim to enhance the role of previously acquired FX-1, SFX's in-house marketing platform for artists and brands.
Paul Greenberg, former CEO of College Humor, is now President of SFX Entertainment
Paul Greenberg, the former CEO of viral content house, College Humor, is now the president of electronic music culture's biggest entity, SFX. According to a recent SEC filing, Greenberg was officially appointed on March 21st 2014. Greenberg has previously served as President of Digital for Time Inc's Lifestyle Group, overseeing 10 digital properties with a combined 16 million unique monthly visitors. He was also named in The Hollywood Report's Top 50 Digital Power list of executives in 2009 and has held high-ranking positions at MTV, TV Guide and Media Net in the past.
SFX draws new sponsors for dance music festivals in wake of fourth-quarter loss
Even though SFX Entertainment reported a net loss of $119 million, or $1.73 a share for the year, it continues to rack up an array of sponsorship deals including Anheuser-Busch and Clear Channel Communication. With a portfolio containing Tomorrowland, Electric Zoo, Rock in Rio and Sensation, the dance music entertainment giant highlights the critical nature of media and sponsorship deals stating that two big deals with be announced next month.
SFX set to acquire EDM ticketing platform Flavorus
SFX Entertainment continues its acquisition of leading companies in the electronic music space with its recent purchase of Flavorus. The innovative ticketing system was established in 1999 by Todd Sims and James Reichardt, Flavorus became the pre-eminent platform in EDM with more than 5,000 partners including EDC, HARD, Pacha NYC, Beta Nightclub and more.
SFX finalizes purchase of B2S, adds Decibel, Hard Bass, Thrillogy, Knock Out and Loudness to event roster
SFX Entertainment continues on its acquisition run by completing a purchase of the remaining 50 percent of B2S Holding BV, a promotional company that specializes in hard dance music. This completed purchase add Decibel, Hard Bass, Thrillogy, Knock Out and Loudness to SFX's ever expanding event catalog. Initially acquiring 50% of B2S as part of its October 2013 acquisition of ID&T, SFX paid an additional $14.3 million in cash and issued 400,000 shares of common stock for the outstanding percentage.
