Featured in nearly every single one of Alexander Ridha's sets this past year, "XTC" has taunted fans with it's monstrously ferocious acid house vibe and enigmatic existence (he opened with it when we saw him at Webster Hall.) Boys Noize fans the world over have been patiently awaiting it's official release and now that wait is finally over. The first single off his much anticipated forthcoming album Out The Black, "XTC" may seem like a cheap play into the drug culture, but, unlike Cedric Gervais's "Molly," this track has much less cheese and a lot more substance. It's dark and brooding, filter-heavy build is paired perfectly with an amphetamine-laced bass line with acid house undertones. This is music born in the underground, designed for those of us who like our dance music a little dirtier -- and a lot less neon. Set to be released on August 6th via Boysnoize records, finding "XTC" has been well worth the wait.
