Dancing Astronaut presents Axis episode 143: Mixed by Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP
Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP take control of our latest Axis to demonstrate how house is handled in the southern hemisphere. The Australian duo are joined by "We No Speak Americano" collaborator, DCUP, on this 14-track funkfest. Opening with Doorly's "Boogaloo," the guys keep things perfectly dance-able and easily digestible, moving through indie dance, bustling house and salsa-inspired cuts. Poolclvb's "What Can I Do" remix makes an appearance along with Superlover's "Love Me," a remix of Nicki Minaj courtesy of Aston Shuffle, and the stand out track from Nicky Night Time "Gonna Be Better." A mid-afternoon pool party in a neat hour-long package, our friends from down under are here to help you shake off the winter cobwebs.
Yolanda Be Cool – Sweat Naked (The Japanese Popstars Remix)
"We No Speak Americano" stars Yolanda Be Cool have released a new single on Dim Mak Records, and it has come with a remix package with offerings from every side of the wide dance music spectrum. Oliver Twitz handles the trap, Sub Antix brings a dubstep take, Etienne De Crecy spins the track into synthed-out French house, and the electro-turned-techno duo The Japanese Popstars represented for fans more privy to harder-hitting industrial techno. If the original sounds maybe a bit too much like Alex Metric's "Rave Weapon," for you, The Japanese Popstars' remix will soften that blow.
