John Christian – Flight 643 (Original Mix)
If you remember a time when Tiësto was DJ Tiësto, chances are you also remember “Flight 643.” First released on In My Memory back in 2001, the tune has been re-released, reworked and referenced dozens of times. Now being brushed off again by fellow Dutchman John Christian on Tiësto’s own Musical Freedom, the track seems to have been declared sufficiently different enough to not warrant the term “remix.” Built on its predecessor’s hard trance beat but more easily identified as progressive house, the overhaul has already been approved by crowds at TomorrowWorld and Beyond Wonderland, who’ve thrashed to its edge but beamed to its builds. A bold take on old meets new, “Flight 643” provides the best sort of music history lesson.
