Tomorrowland, EXIT and more nominated for ‘Best European Festival’
Nowhere in the world do they do music festivals like they do in Europe. Each year, in a healthy competition, the European Festival Awards set out to find the best of the best. On the radar for 2014 are several major electronic music events including the world renowned Tomorrowland festival in Belgium, and Serbia’s own EXIT festival, which won the contest last year. In the running for ‘Best Indoor Festival’ are Spain’s Sonar and the Netherlands’ Sensation, among others.
The festival awards are separated into tiers based on size, aptly categorized as small, medium or large. The festival also nominates best newcomer, headliners, promoters, and sustainable ventures. Awards winners will be announced in January during Eurosonic Noordeslag at De Oosterport, a European music conference in the Netherlands.
