Illyus & Barrientos have proven to be the kind of no nonsense house outfit that the European market desperately needs. The Glasgow Underground staples made with fresh summer offering “Chase Your Trip” back in June, but stagger the original output this month for an official remix stint for certified US heavyweight and rising festival staple MK.

Their take on “Bring Me To Life” is a far murkier affair than Marc Kinchen and Milly Pye’s key-laden original. Stripping back the vocals and finely tuning the low-end frequencies goes a long way in the Scottish duo’s hands, giving the track a somewhat more fluid push towards the club floor. There will be no shortage of acts trying to muscle into this interesting swell for the European house circuit at the final hurdle of the summer, but Illyus and Barrientos remain consistently poised with a sense of consistency you just can’t force.
