Anticipation and excitement have taken over the trap world as one of its most prolific talents, DJ Snake, prepares to drop his debut album Encore on August 5. The French trap magnate has kept his fans on close watch as he slowly reveals the tracks and high-profile collaborators behind his debut offering.
One such example comes in his newest record, premiered on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show, titled “Ocho Cinco” (perhaps in reference to the famed retired football player Chad Johnson). Pairing with his trap brethren Yellow Claw, the collective have created a powerful concoction full of intense hardstyle kicks and a hip-hop inspired drop filled with pronounced synthesizers. Ultimately, “Ocho Cinco” makes for an intriguing mixture of sounds that will surely continue to be a staple in the sets of both collaborators’ for some time.
