We don’t know much about Canadian producer Benji but his debut single, “Steel Eyes,” has us curious. Progressive house is currently one of the most stagnant sub genres of dance music so we weren’t expecting much from the tune — however, Benji’s effort is enchanting. The track employs a variety of catchy elements like an acoustic guitar and indie vocals while maintaining the synths we’ve come to expect from productions of the progressive house persuasion. We hope his future projects continue to mesh unexpected elements with the more typical sounds.
