DA’s Best of the Rest: Wednesday July 18, 2012

Well, “hump day” is finally almost over, meaning we’re that much closer to the weekend, but of course today was as jam-packed as ever. Today was marked by a few new releases, our continuation of the best moments of 2012 (so far), and even a pretty s

nazzy contest. What we didn’t get to tell you about were things like Sharam’s new album, a cool video interview with Eric Prydz, a new episode of R3hab’s podcast, and more.

1. We checked out Juicy Beach NY for Robbie Rivera. Check out the 5 tracks you need to know from his set.

2. We continue counting down the best moments of the year (so far), with Skrillex’s amazing three Grammy wins.

3. Enter to win an Identity Festival prize package, including two tickets to a tour date, iHome goodies, and a bunch of other rave gear.

1. Sharam has released a new mixed compilation called Night & Day on Yoshitoshi Recordings. Listen to the promo mix on SoundCloud below, and head over to Beatport to pick it up for reals.

2. Eric Prydz did an interview with our friends at Surrender Vegas, where he talks about some of his most recognizable tracks — and he talks about how he and the Swedish House Mafia sort of crafted the signature Swedish sound.

3. R3hab is back with the second installment of his I Need R3hab podcast. Give it a listen and download for free here.

4. Bassjackers and Yves V released a preview of their new bass-heavy electro house track, “Bronx”due out August 13th on Smash The House.

5. Looking for another free download? Grab Tom Swoon’s (formerly known as Pixel Cheese) huge progressive house remix of Ellie Goulding’s “Hanging On.”
