When The Rolling Stones began their ascension to Rock’n’Roll superstardom in 1962, it would’ve been hard to believe that one day, an Italian electronic producer named Benny Benassi would one day remix one of their songs. Still releasing music 50 years later, the rock legends have met their fate of falling into the EDM trend. Their latest single, “Doom and Gloom,” is doing well by its own standards, but the band is getting even greater expose with its remix from Mr. Benassi.
When thinking of vocalists of dance tracks, a handful of names immediately come to mind, but I never would have thought to utter the name Mick Jagger. Benny makes a clean fusion of rock elements and synth warps for an electro-rock jam, and Jagger’s voice can still captivate as powerfully as it always has.
