Armin van Buuren prepares to launch new label dedicated to fast paced trance, ‘Who’s Afraid of 138?!’
The current musical climate has seen trance musicians abandon the harder and faster forms of the genre for more accessible “trouse” intersections with modern EDM’s sound. While Armin van Buuren‘s sound has similarly shifted over the years, the trance titan recently announced his intention to provide a new home for tracks embodying the uplifting sound of yesteryear.
Dubbed “Who’s Afraid of 138?!,” Armin’s new imprint started as an inside joke on his A State of Trance radio show before blossoming into one of the most popular areas at ASOT600’s Den Bosch performance. The label promises to showcase oft overlooked artists, with forthcoming releases from the likes of Photographer, Andrew Rayel & Alexandre Bergheau and John O’Callaghan.
