Deadmau5 says goodbye to Twitter
Some artists’ social media platforms are run by management, but Deadmau5‘s opinionated voice has shone through his tweets over the years. Today, he announced on Tumblr that he is stepping down from Twitter and moving forward his account will be in the hands of his management. He writes, “My reasons are my own, not because of something i said, not because of this hilarious I.R.A. vs “ira” craic, not because of lady gaga’s infinite legions of brain dead fans. but as i said… reasons of my own.” Although he will no longer be personally active on Twitter, the mau5 has assured fans that music will still be consistently uploaded to Soundcloud, and that his Twitter account will continue to keep listeners up to date on the latest and greatest. For now, Zimmerman is choosing to focus his time in the studio rather than “Be[ing] force-fed stupid shit that annoys me.” He makes it clear that in no way is he trying to abandon fans by closing all connections, thanking them for their “Continued support and understanding of my decision to personally unplug myself from the very thing that’s making me upset.”
On another note, Joel’s new Tricaster is set to arrive today, meaning that there may be more live streaming with direct audio in the future.
