In the months following its release, Avicii’s True album has been host to countless remixes and bootlegs across a wide variety of genres. Enter MORTEN who decides to take a run at the album’s second breakout single “Hey Brother.” Pairing the original’s bluegrass vocal cues with dark and dreary progressive house, the Scandinavian producer facilitates a metamorphosis of sorts on the pop-heavy output. What could once be considered a radio-friendly smash has been gutted, stomped on, and reconstructed by MORTEN in a jagged and driving electro shell more suitable for a dancefloor than a Sunday drive to your grandma’s house.

In anticipation of his debut on Ultra Records, “Perfect Dive,” MORTEN has released his Frankenstein monster for free to the masses.
