Over 20,000 people attended Sydney’s Field Day event on New Year’s Day. 140 of them ended up in cuffs.  Reports indicate that an increase in police presence as well as canine units aided in the arrest of at least 140 festival attendees for misdemeanor drug offenses. Two men, who allegedly were in possession of a significant amount of ecstasy tablets and cash, are due to face court hearings early next month.

Twenty-two people were removed from the event for intoxication or disorderly conduct.
