Bingo Players cancels Hakkasan performance as Maarten expects first child, Steve Aoki to replace

Paul Bäumer of the Bingo Players passed away in December of 2013 and an emotionally turbulent few months followed as the dance music community mourned the loss of a loved talent. Remaining member Maarten Hoogstraten announced he would carry on the Bingo Players name as a solo act moving forward, and following a short hiatus, has continued to perform as scheduled for the Bingo Players.

Yet another jolting announcement arises from the Bingo Players today, but thankfully, the news is positive. In a joyful turn of events, Maarten took to the official Bingo Players Facebook today to explain that he will be unable to fulfill his scheduled Las Vegas performance at Hakkasan this Thursday, April 24th, as he is expecting the delivery of his first child as of Wednesday, April 23rd.

Fortunately, the show will go on for anticipating Las Vegas partiers. Steve Aoki – still hot off his recent onslaught of announcements including a fresh release of his single “Rage the Night Away,” his forthcoming double-hitter Neon Future albums, and plans to take on Madison Square Garden on August 16th – has stepped up to take the Bingo Players slot in Maarten’s absence.

Congratulations to Maarten and his family on their newest addition.
