Dutch newcomer Oliver Heldens today claimed his first UK number one with ‘Gecko (Overdrive).’
Knocking Ella Henderson from her perch with prior chart-topper “Ghost,” the young Dutchman behind the infamous Musical Freedom ID debuted on the UK charts alongside UK vocalist Becky Hill, who last took the top ten with Wilkinson’s popular drum & bass offering “Afterglow.”
Heldens, who joins Martin Garrix and Tiësto as Dutch chart triumphs in the UK for 2014, told Dancing Astronaut: “It is so nice to see so many people enjoying the groovier side of dance music. Even with vocals, house music has found a huge influence and I am so excited to see where it goes.”
