Kygo to contribute to ‘Entourage’ soundtrack, hinting debut album and future projects for 2015
For those starting to gather names of promising hopefuls likely to be part of the 2015’s Coachella, it might be wise to keep a watchful eye on Kygo. Oftentimes, Coachella acts as a new music launchpad for artists and the Norwegian tropical house breakthrough has revealed that his debut album is slated to be released just prior to the hotly-anticipated Southern California festival.
In addition to a potential Coachella appearance, fans of HBO’s Entourage can expect Kygo to join the soundtrack. The move was a strategic decision made by his manager who reportedly also passed on other feature film opportunities for the producer – including a soundtrack spot for the latest Hunger Games and the upcoming DJ-inspired film, We Are Your Friends.
Though he has already paved his way as an electronic standout, the coveted producer has yet to release a debut original since his high profile break out year. Still, his talent – evidenced through his unique catalogue of remixes – has opened up what seems to be a stream of endless opportunities. Zeroing in on Kygo as a pioneer of the genre, talks of him taking the lead on a tropical house label, a tropical house-dedicated Pete Tong BBC show, as well as a possible Mad Decent Block Party series inspired by the genre are all in discussion for the prooducer’s bright and promising future.
