“Take Me to Church” hit #1 in a dozen countries, was nominated for Song of the Year at the Grammys, and went triple platinum in the United States. Naturally, it’s been remixed countless times over the past year or so, but somehow the best version yet came from an unknown artist just this week.

Frost is an Australian producer getting ready to put out a batch of original material, but he’s opted to make his remix of “Take Me To Church” his first release. He masterfully employs haunting echoes, clever percussion, and precise keys, but Hozier’s tortured vocals are still the most powerful component of the track. In the end, it’s this ability to channel Hozier’s raw emotion and sincerity that makes Frost’s remix so special.
