Back in April Ratatat returned with “Cream on Chrome” and rumors of a forthcoming fifth album. The follow up to 2010’s LP4, Evan Mast and Mike Stroud ditch the chronological album count for Magnifique. Slated for release on July 17th, the album is the result of 4 years of recording, including some time spent in Jamaica, upstate New York, Long Island and Brooklyn. The 14-track album is bound to be an eccentric trip through a variety of genres from shoegaze to synthwave and everything in between with a handful of singles likely to drop ahead of its summer unveiling.
