Splice launches ‘Splice Sounds:’ the answer to sample pack purchasing

For music producers, sample packs are a double-edged sword. On the upside, they provide a fresh palette of sounds to create with and serve as a permanent addition to one’s library. On the down side, they’re usually expensive and, more often than not, only offer a few sounds that end up fitting the mold of what one is looking for. This phenomenon is frustrating enough to turn most producers on to piracy, yet ultimately, that’s an even bigger problem as it only hurts the developers creating the packs.

A better workaround is needed, and fortunately, Splice has created a viable alternative. Today, the cloud-based music production platform launched their newest add-on, Splice Sounds. The new subscription-based service gives users access to over 1,500 packs — everyone from Loopmasters to XFER — allowing one to preview and download individual samples from a pack. It’s as easy as saving a sound to one’s library and dragging it into a project. What’s more, user can search the 500,000+ samples by genre, key, BPM and other tags and save ones they like for later. Frankly, it just makes a lot of sense.

The service comes with two tiers: $7.99/100 credits (downloads) per month or $13.99/300 credits per month. Check it out on Splice.
