To revive a classic takes guts, and in dance music, quite a bit of talent in order not to fall flat. Los Angeles duo Louis Vivet seem to have delivered just that in their flip of Miike Snow’s “Silvia,” a favorite from 2009 long before Christian Karlsson became one half of Galantis. Transforming the Miike Snow original, Louis Vivet’s offer a completely reworked version that dials back the track with a heavier vocoder and punchier kick line. Utilizing a vocal feature from Jordan Humphrey, the reformed “Silvia” conveys the same somber electronica in a newer, modern breath.
