Ariana Grande tests out her hi-tech Imogen Heap performance gloves
When she’s not topping music charts, taking over Top 40 radio or globetrotting on her global Honeymoon tour, pop superstar Ariana Grande is an avid celebrity proponent and collaborator of Imogen Heap’s remarkably innovative Mi.Mu gloves. The musician’s hi-tech performance invention allows the user to interact and create beautiful melodies through hand gestures to offer a more natural approach to music software.
In Grande’s latest social media musings, the 22-year-old showed off her growing skills as she continues to test new sounds with the gloves via this Instagram video she posted late Thursday night. At the rate she’s going, Ariana could be the first artist to create a new track, or even an entire album, using this futuristic software.
As of now, the Mi.Mu gloves come with a hefty price tag for a reported $2,000 a pair, but the company hopes to make them more affordable once they are mass marketed. While on tour in the beginning of the year, the “Problem” songbird showcased her first learning the equipment and subsequently creating angelic new music. Check it out in the tour video diary below.
