Rising star from Colombia wins 2015 Miller SoundClash competition

Last week, Colombian DJ and producer Augusto Yepes was named winner of the 2015 Miller SoundClash competition, held in Las Vegas at Marquee Dayclub. The 27-year-old producer faced off against fourteen emerging artists, each getting only 17 minutes to leave an impact on the panel. The grand prize included a deal with Aftercluv Dancelab, granting the winner support in creating a debut music video as the battle champion, A&R services and the opportunity to release a single. “I’m overwhelmed by the feedback from the judges and still buzzing from the Vegas crowd,” said the 27-year-old producer. “I can’t wait to celebrate with all my fellow DJ finalists tonight!” Known for a deep, bass-driven tech house sound that some have likened to Seth Troxler and Jamie Jones, Yepes got his feet wet in the nightlife and music industry as a co-founder of the now internationally recognized party brand Coffee Corp., which sought to create a series of sexy, music-driven events centered around uncovering emerging talent. He’s now become a major name in Latin America’s budding deep house and tech music scene. You can listen to one of his Coffee Corp. sets and watch Yepes’s post-win interview here:
