DA Premiere: ETC!ETC! strikes back with ‘Wicked’ EP
A long established favorite of the bass favoring masses, ETC! ETC! has fast become one of North America’s most promising trap and moombahton jugglers. Having turned his hand to remix duties for some of the year’s biggest records on behalf of both OWSLA and Mad Decent this year, the budding festival favorite picks up where ‘Supa Hot Fire’ left off with a six pronged assault of original material.
Whilst opening moment ‘Colossal’ sets the tone for six tracks of main room bass, beats and wobbles, the EP unfolds as one of the most confident and versatile insights we have had to date into ETC!ETC! and his consistently high octane sound. Moments like ‘Money’ alongside Refune peer Salvatore Ganacci revisit the loose and luscious energy of dance hall, leaving cuts like ‘Devils Lettuce’ and ‘Juicy’ to frame a more traditional yet equally impactful stand on the modern trap sound. There’s enough bass, beats and carnival rhythms to keep the masses moving, but Wicked essentially sees ETC!ETC! put production prowess back on the map for modern party music.
