Insomniac to host a series of warehouse parties in Los Angeles
Before founding Insomniac Events and organizing the likes of Electric Daisy Carnival and further events, Pasquale Rotella was just another starry-eyed raver in Los Angeles’ underground warehouse party scene. The entrepreneurial promoter’s “raves-to-riches” story has seen him catapult to the top of the dance music event circuit, but it seems that Rotella will soon be taking Insomniac back to his roots.
Rotella said in a Facebook post that Insomniac will be curating a series of special warehouse events this summer in Downtown LA.
Warehouse parties have become increasingly popular in the larger urban dance markets as “models and bottles” clubs seem to be falling out of favor.
Rotella has paid lip service to the dangers of the unrestricted underground events he frequented in his heyday, insisting that well organized events with proper facilities can help ensure safety measures for patrons. How authentically Rotella’s warehouse initiative will implement the underground aesthetic remains to be seen.
