Massive Attack to headline British Summer Time at Hyde Park
After a six-year gap between releases, Massive Attack have returned in 2016 in a big way. The trip-hop duo has been announced as the headliner for the July 1 edition of the British Summer Time series in Hyde Park. This comes after the release of their newest EP Ritual Spirit in January — accompanied by an app that will remix their tracks via heartbeat — and the premiere of an ominous video for “Voodoo in My Blood” starring Rosamund Pike.
Young Fathers, the hip hop group that collaborated on “Voodoo in My Blood,” will be performing along with Massive Attack during their set. The full lineup has yet to be announced but Patti Smith, TV on the Radio, Ghostpoet, and Warpaint have been confirmed in support. Jamie XX and Kendrick Lamar will be performing the following day, July 2.
Tickets go on sale March 11 through the British Summer Time series website.
