Flux Pavilion and Doctor P team up for new three-track EP, ‘Party Drink Smoke’
When Flux Pavilion and Doctor P join forces, big things are known to happen. As the two figureheads behind the seminal Circus Records imprint, the UK producers have channeled some of the most innovative bass music of the last 7 years. When linked together, their studio output has created such monster tracks as “Superbad” and their remix to DJ Fresh’s “Louder.” Now, indulging fan’s nostalgia, the duo have teamed up once again for a three track EP titled Party Drink Smoke.
The title track incites the kind of riotous energy that has become a staple of their live shows. With Jared Benton serving as MC, it’s a frantic, party-starting offering with a near-anxious energy to it. The second track, “Fuckers,” revives the funk appeal of past releases like “Superbad,” offering a more melodically satisfying counterpart to “Party Drink Smoke.” Lastly there’s “Stampede,” which blends deeper, chord driven sections with frenetic halftime drops. Something of a middle man between the first two tracks, it’s a classic Circus rave anthem with plenty of the imprint’s hallmark sounds embedded throughout.
