Radiohead return with new single, ‘Burn the Witch’
New Radiohead material has finally arrived following what has proven a puzzling album campaign. Recently, fans received mysterious pamphlets from the band in the mail that simply said “burn the witch,” while their entire online existence abruptly ended shortly after. Thom Yorke and company have been cryptically alluding to a ninth album for some time, and now we’ve received the first single.
The breadcrumbs started this morning when Radiohead quietly returned to the internet with two videos posted on Instagram: both claymation shorts. One features a little bird, chirping on a branch. The second short pictures a demonic sacrificing ritual playing out on a sunny afternoon. Now the new track, “Burn the Witch,” has officially surfaced, with its full claymation music video in tail.
