The wait for Gorillaz next album continues with more news from Jamie Hewlett himself. The 5th studio album from the animated project will be their first in 6 years. Originally slated for a 2016 release, Hewlett told the Gorillaz North American fan page that the untitled album has been pushed back to 2017. For fans who are disappointed in having to wait a bit longer for the group’s album, Hewlett assured them that it is “really fucking special. Can’t be rushed. 2017, yo.”

While the teasers will likely continue to come as the album nears completion, this is one of those moments where patience will definitely pay off for fans in the end.
