New venue XX XX will open in Manila this June
A new Filipino venue XX XX, pronounced “twenty twenty,” will open its doors next month in the capital city. According to the club’s operators, the 250-person venue will “strive to push house and techno, to disco and world music, showcasing the range of taste and quality among local DJs.” The club boasts Martin Audio, the same audio systems in place as London’s Ministry of Sound.
Berlin-based trio FJAAK will headline the club’s opening party, with Samantha Nicole, Bruder, Mulan and Mikail on support. The booking choice reflects the club’s forthcoming partnership with German cultural association Goethe Institut Manila, which is intended to promote Berlin’s brightest talents in the house and techno realms.
