According to new reports, as many as 6 girls found in DVBBS’ dressing room
New reports from Hungary’s 444 outlet have surfaced suggesting that as many as 6 girls, 3 unconscious, were found in EDM duo DVBBS‘ dressing room following their Saturday evening performance at Hungary’s Balaton Sound festival.
Reportedly, festival staff entered the duo’s dressing room backstage after they had left the venue to find three unconscious girls, one of whom was urgently ill. Festival staffers stated that the three other girls in the room were scared and ran away before an ambulance and authorities could arrive.
Though the girls were rushed to the hospital, festival health care director Windy Geza confirmed that none of the girls required serious medical intervention. Festival organizers have also confirmed that the girls would not have been able to enter the protected area without artist accompaniment.
Several parents have come forward to file police reports regarding the event, including a well known Hungarian journalist whose daughter and friend were both found unconscious. While several of the girls involved have been questioned by press and authorities, most don’t remember much.
Reports from Hungarian outlets have also suggested that both DVBBS van den Hoef brothers and two members of their entourage were apprehended at the Liszt Ferenc International Airport in Budapest shortly after the girls were discovered. Officers found marijuana paraphernalia among the group and three men were arrested after failing a rapid drug screen with one brought in as a witness to drug taking. The men were interred at Ferihegy, but have either posted bail or been released since.
Previous comments from the Somogy County Police indicate officials believe the two events are “absolutely related.” In a statement given yesterday to Hungarian publication Index, however, the duo and their Hungarian lawyer Gábor Papp have fiercely denied the connection. We’ve translated it below:
“Shocked to learn that several of the festival’s participants took part in events which required hospitalization. The police have confirmed that there is no relation between us and the above incident. Of course we will remain available for marijuana possession proceedings to clear up the allegations. We wish a quick recovery to all of the ill victims.” – DVBBS
Regardless of if the two events are connected or not, DVBBS may be facing potential jail time for the drug possession charges alone. Hungary is notorious for its strict drug laws, where possession is considered a criminal charge, punishable by two years of imprisonment depending on the amount. If it’s proven that DVBBS offered any form of drugs to the girls backstage, they may potentially be facing a more serious sentence as well.
[Update 3:43 PM EST]: As reported by Index, the girls have been examined by a doctor and no signs of sexual abuse have been found.
