The Radar 64: Mixed by Marcus Marr
UK outfit Marcus Marr started out like many DJs have in the past producing underground house for his home country’s club circuit. It wasn’t until he found his name side-by-side with Australian indie-electronic maven, Chet Faker, for a full-fledged EP, Work.
The EP catapulted Marr into a new league of dance artists, and with the ability to produce a multitude of styles, the UK melody-bender steps up the plate for The Radar’s 64th episode for what he calls “The New Moon Mix” in celebration of New York City’s Full Moon Fest on August 20 & 21.
The first two tracks to introduce the mix boast a funk-ridden temperament akin to those heard in Marr’s work with Chet Faker. Once entrenched in the hour-long piece, however, Marr’s experimental and underground tones rise to the surface.
