Listen to The M Machine’s new single, ‘The Warehouse’
The M Machine recently announced that they’ll be dropping a new album in 2017, out on Mat Zo’s independent label, Mad Zoo. The forthcoming feature, titled Glare, is the group’s first official release as a duo, and comes as the follow-up to 2014’s Just Like.
The first single off Glare arrives as a somber yet melodic tribute to their first home in San Francisco titled “The Warehouse.” Though the track was written almost two years ago, its release comes in the wake of the Oakland warehouse tragedy that has claimed over 30 lives.
“Our goal in [this] release is to share our music with you and promote our album,” The M Machine said in a statement on Facebook. “But due to the circumstances, we hope you’ll also read about the Ghost Ship tragedy, and consider contributing to the families of the victims…”
If “The Warehouse” is any indication of what’s the come of Glare, fans can expect more of an indie instrumental, which is a vast departure from their dark debut, the two-part EP Metropolis. The album’s first track can be streamed below, and donations to the Oakland Fire Relief can be made on YouCaring.
