Ben Bruce and Dylan Gold revel in unsettling people with their meticulously disorganized music. As um.., the producers have created a reputation for themselves upon their skillfully abstract music and aesthetic; thoughtful, but not self-serious, the two producers stand out as unique players in the bass music community.

Bruce and Gold’s latest release, the frustratingly-named “Their Are to Kinds of People,” continues um..’s longstanding tradition of flouting the status quo. Indeed, the title – made up of intentionally-misused homonyms which are grammatically correct in their capitalizations – reflects the essence of the song itself.

While the track’s may seem cluttered, Bruce and Gold’s unique, hectic mode of sonic layering is a composition of masterful disarray. Menacing and deliberately disjointed, “Their Are to Kinds of People” is yet another deliriously engaging piece in the bizarre canon of um…
