Journalist pens new book that delves into dance music’s global ascension
Esteemed journalist and former foreign correspondent for BBC, Al Jazeera, and more, Matthew Collin, has announced a new book set to be released January 11.
Rave On: Global Adventures In Electronic Dance Music is an in-depth analysis of how dance music’s situated itself as a global phenomenon and multimillion-dollar industry. It explores dance music’s permeation of the underground to mainstream ubiquity, through Collin’s surveying of several different dance scenes. From Ibiza to emerging undergrounds in Shanghai and Dubai, Rave On examines growth through numerous destinations’ pasts, present, and futures.
Collin’s already widely known for his 1997 book, Altered State, which examines the acid house and ecstasy culture.
