See fine arts doppelgangers for Deadmau5, Zedd, Illenium and more
Google’s Arts & Culture app currently commands the number one spot in unpaid app downloads across iTunes, Android, and iOS after the app’s fine art portrait match feature went viral.
The feature enables app users to identify the five fine art portraits that most closely resemble their own likeness, with just the snap of a selfie. Once the Arts & Culture user takes a selfie, the app uses facial recognition technology to register the image and retrieve five ‘matches,’ pulled from more than 1,200 museums in more than 70 countries. The app then displays the matches, showing the percentage of facial similarity between the selfie and its muse matches. App users can see the respective titles of the portraits, as well as the museums in which the invaluable pieces are displayed.
Dancing Astronaut downloaded the app and input photos of the world’s top DJs in order to see what the top matches would look like. While the app naturally excludes masked figures like Marshmello from its facial matching process, the results for heavyweights like Eric Prydz and Dillon Francis range from the comical to the uncanny. See the full list of portrait matches, below.
