Stream Hoodboi’s dynamic ‘Breathing Room’ EP
LA-based producer Hoodboi just released his highly personal seven-track EP, Breathing Room, on Fool’s Gold Records.
After having moved to LA in 2004, Hoodboi became steeped in the underground intersection of hip-hop and electronic production. In 2011, he helped form TeamSupreme and began to gain widespread attention with for his club edits of ’90s throwback anthems — he even managed to catch the eye of the Fool’s Gold head honcho A-Trak along the way. Since then, Hoodboi has gone on to collaborate with artists like Lido, Djemba Djemba, Tkay Maidza, Alison Wonderland, and more — a testament to his production potential.
Breathing Room is a versatile, heady record. It’s equally as emotive and beguiling in its R&B and soulful vocal chops as it is brimming with dance floor potential. Lending his talents twofold, seen readily in the transition from the “Long Distance” to “True Colors,” Hoodboi’s comfortable and in the zone.
