Patrick Topping‘s gone rogue, or rather, his version of rogue — he’s gone mainstream on his latest rework. A considerable shift for the underground tech house maven, Topping’s take on Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa’s summer anthem, “One Kiss,” is the don’s most outright move into commercial territory as of yet.

Just his ninth remix to date, Topping’s “One Kiss” is an absolute heater; rife with bubbling horns, rolling bass lines, and jumpity hi-hats, it’s inventive and risky, though it’s a bold move that’s proven to pull off. Here’s to hoping he continues to approach reworks with an open mind.
