Rostam gets the indie electronic treatment on new ‘Half-Light Remixes: EP1’
After producing all three of Vampire Weekend‘s iconic albums, former bandmate and producer Rostam found his own place in the indie landscape. Having releasing his debut LP, Half-Light, last year, Rostam has now revealed a four track remix EP for the quiet yet comforting album.
Half-Light Remixes: EP1 is a reimagining of some of Rostam’s top tracks. Tourist leads off the EP with their remix of “Gwan,” an acoustic track that gets a slow-burning and ethereal spin. Jim-E Stack and Instupendo follow, each putting forth subdued and synth-filled efforts that breathe new life into the already beautiful tracks. Matsor Projects’ cheery and upbeat take on “Bike Dream” tosses in an infectious bass line and groovy beat to close out the EP.
