Summer of Shaq is here as he announces his inaugural DJ tour
SHAQ is embarking on his first-ever DJ tour. Four-time NBA champion and Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal will be DJing 15 dates this summer. The Summer of Shaq is in in session, with stops in Miami for Diplo‘s Mad Decent Pool Party, and Washington D.C. at Echostage with Cash Cash.
“A lot of people think I am just a celebrity DJ, but I’ve been DJing since I was 14 years old, through my LSU days, and even back when I was in the NBA,” Shaq told Billboard. “Over the years my musical influences may have changed, but one thing has always stayed consistent – it’s all about FUN and making people dance. That is what Summer of Shaq is all about.”
During Miami Music Week, O’Neal along with his music managers, Adam Richman and Joe Silberzweig, launched Shaq’s Fun House, which included carnival games, circus performers, and a power lineup of Diplo, Steve Aoki, A-Trak, and DJ Diesel himself.
His goal? To create the best event of all time: a never-seen-before-type atmosphere. One can only assume his DJ sets will have that same mentality.
